Tell us a little about yourself!
Hi, I’m Alexis. I'm a twenty-one year old fourth year Psychology student at San Francisco State University. I’m in my last year of my bachelor’s degree and looking into different masters programs so I can achieve my dream of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist.
What previous experience and/or interests made you want to join the Global Classroom?
So I used to work as an afternoon teacher at an elementary school in San Francisco. I love working with children and being able to help them grow and learn new things. Since the pandemic/lockdown started, I haven’t been able to work back at the school and can no longer see my students. Being able to be a part of Global Classroom makes me feel like I’m back in a classroom, helping children learn as well as being able to give a helping hand to teachers who are struggling with the new changes in our education systems.
What is the best aspect about working for the Global Classroom?
I think the best part is being able to work with a group of people that really love what they’re doing. Everyone who is a part of it puts so much time and effort into their videos and other work they really do, as well as giving good feedback to help with making sure the work we are putting out is our best.
