COMMUNITY OUTREACH

We are excited to be working with schools in Mexico to support teachers and families through distance-learning modality. Our aim is to facilitate professional development workshops for teachers and administrators surrounding physical and emotional well-being for families during the pandemic. In future collaboration, we plan to convert our social-emotional learning videos into Spanish for school and family use. We are currently partnering with schools in Quintana Roo, Jalisco, Veracruz, and Yucatan.

CURRENT RESEARCH

This study seeks to understand the link between parent-child stress symptoms caused by the pandemic and factors that may moderate the relationship between the two (e.g., co-parenting style). Our aim is to gather data from 200-400 parents in Mexico reporting on their own stress and their child's behavioral changes since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. We predict that higher levels of stress on parents, will result in higher negative behaviors from children. For a full abstract visit the "Mexican Families and Stress" section on the "Research" page.
